On January 29, 2015, the Fair Housing Project of Legal Aid of North Carolina, in conjunction with several co-sponsors, will be offering a day-long training covering the design and construction requirements under federal and state law for building accessible multifamily housing. The event, which will include a trainer from HUD’s Fair Housing Accessibility First program as well as an expert on North Carolina’s requirements, will take place at the Chapel Hill Public Library from 8:30-5:00.
In addition to the Fair Housing Project, other co-sponsors of the event include the Orange County Human Relations Commission, the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, the Apartment Association of North Carolina, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The event is being offered free of charge, thanks to support from HUD. An optional box lunch is available for attendees at a cost of $15.00. In addition, a light continental breakfast is being offered to all attendees thanks to the generous contributions of the NCHFA and the AANC.
