Registration is now open for the 10th Annual Fair Housing Conference to be held in Raleigh, NC, on Friday, April 27, 2012.
The conference, “Ensuring Fair Housing for All in North Carolina,” will feature keynote speaker John Trasviña, the Assistant Secretary for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Conference plenary panels will cover discrimination against people with disabilities, sex/gender discrimination, national origin discrimination, and fair lending.
Other conference speakers include: Eric Halperin, U.S. Department of Justice; Susan Silverstein, AARP Foundation; Omar Jadwat, ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project; Peter Skillern, Reinvestment Partners; Suzanne Chester, Legal Aid of North Carolina; Mercedes Restucha-Klem, Disability Rights North Carolina; Hazel Mack, Legal Aid of North Carolina; Bishop Donagrant McCluney, Southerners on New Ground; and Richard Duncan, RL Mace Universal Design Institute.
The conference will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton, located at 1707 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC.
